What They Are

J.C. Ramsdell Enviro Services, Inc. supplies synthetic geomembrane liners for any type of earthen dike system. We specialize in fertilizer dikes and fuel dikes.

Earthen dike systems are typically the least expensive form of secondary containment on large tank farms. They are also one of the easiest systems to build.

Most earthen dikes include an anchor trench around the top of the dike. This trench holds the liner securely in place.

However, for small bulk storage facilities, earthen dikes are not as cost-effective. The slopes of the dikes typically have a large surface area — often larger than the floor itself. Since the slopes need to be lined, the cost increases. Earthen dike systems also require significantly more ground area than other systems.
