Railroad Car Containment

If you look closely at this picture you can see the top wall of an under the track containment system that will hold the contents of a 30,000 gallon rail car.

The customer asked us to design and build this after they experienced a complete rail car release. They had placed a plastic pan system between the tracks that they had hoped would protect them in case there was a spill. The pan system has the ability to capture small spills but not a fast catastrophic release.

After the owner experienced a catastrophic spill that triggered a huge environmental clean up program, we were called in to install our containment system under the track rail that could hold a complete rail car release.

This project only took 4 days to complete. We began by removing the existing track and excavating the needed area. Three days later, as you can see in this picture, we are replacing the existing track. We were able to work around the owners schedule to insure he did not have to shut down his plant.
